United States Department of Education (USDE) Approves Exclusion of the English Language Proficiency (ELP) Indicator from Accountability Support Model Determinations based on 2026-2027 School Year Results

- USDE approved the request from the 快猫成版视频 (快猫成版视频 or 鈥渢he Department鈥�) to exclude the ELP indicator from the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) accountability support model determinations based on 2026鈥�2027 school year results while 快猫成版视频 completes the necessary technical work accompanying the major transition from the New York State English as a Second Language Achievement Test (NYSESLAT) to the WIDA English Language Development Assessment System.
- Under this waiver, which will be in effect for accountability support model determinations in the 2027鈥�2028 school year based on 2026鈥�2027 school year results, 快猫成版视频 will continue to report ELP and annual assessment results based on 2026鈥�2027 school year data on and will provide targeted technical assistance to local educational agencies to support the transition to the WIDA assessments.
- The Department will reinstate the ELP indicator for ESSA accountability support model determinations in the 2028鈥�2029 school year based on 2027鈥�2028 school year results, following standard setting, cut-point determinations, and regulatory alignments.
